Biography

ABOUT

I want to make work that is visually pleasing to the viewer. I want to travel and capture
scenic views similar to national geographic work. I always prefer to use natural light
when possible because I feel that it makes for aesthetically bold and memorable
images (depending on the situation). I enjoy the process of shot design and setting up
the framing for shots. I want to shoot narratives that engage viewers cinematically and
have them actively use their imagination to piece together the story. I want my films to
engage the viewer with the visuals on screen and the movement of the camera. When I
shoot I tend to favor longer takes and tracking shots. I like to place the actors/subjects in frame
alone and close to the camera. I like the use of reaction shots. I feel all of this together
brings the viewer in closer and provides a stronger emotional connection with the
film/image. I have a passion for cars. A quarter of my photography, and where I developed a lot of my technique, revolves around the time I spend  "car spotting" anywhere I can.
